Biography & Education

Dr. Grace La's passion for dentistry began at a young age, shadowing her father at his dental practice. This early exposure fueled her determination to pursue a career in dentistry. With the honorable award of Magna Cum Laude, a distinction reserved for the top 10% of the class, she earned her doctorate degree at the prestigious Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2010. This early academic achievement foreshadowed her future success and dedication to excellence in the field of dentistry. 


In 2018, Dr. La achieved the esteemed status of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), a recognition reserved for the top 7% of general dentists nationwide. This designation speaks volumes about her commitment to advancing her skills and knowledge to provide her patients with the highest quality of care possible.


As an active member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Spear Study Club, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Dr. La remains deeply engaged in the dental community. When Dr. La isn't practicing dentistry, she juggles the role of a devoted mother to three beautiful children. Beyond her family life, Dr. La is a co-founder of the Deep and Wide Foundation, an organization deeply rooted in evangelical Christian faith, committed to worship, mission, and education. Together with her husband, Chris, who serves as a minister, Dr. La actively engages in serving churches, local communities, and global mission efforts. Her overarching mission is to embody and share the love of God, both through her professional endeavors and her everyday life.

Minh-Tam Aaron Le, DDS

Your Skilled And Friendly Dentist

Education & Honors

Dr. Le was among “the boat” people who escaped his native country of Vietnam, to come to America. After three years of staying in a make-shift refugee camp in Pulau Galang, Indonesia, Dr. Le was sponsored by a convent in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to have the opportunity of a lifetime to come to America. It was in one of the community dental clinics in Baton Rouge where the great profession of dentistry first touched Dr. Le’s life. The gentle and compassionate dentists from the community clinic helped restore his teeth and educated him on maintaining them.

Dr. Le and dentistry crossed paths once again on career day in high school in Fairfax, VA. A visiting dentist was kind enough to spend her time talking to him about how awesome it is to be a dentist. Perhaps that was the ah-ha moment for him as it ignited the passion for dentistry within him. Dr. Le has been pursuing dentistry ever since that day and has never looked back.

Dr. Le received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the Virginia Commonwealth University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University, Washington, DC, as his class Treasurer. He later completed his residency at Hackensack Mountainside Hospital, in NJ, where he was a chief resident.

Early in his career development, Dr. Le was very fortunate to have his younger brother and mother be among his first patients. After being separated for more than twenty years, Dr. Le sponsored their move to America. Coming from a third-world country, his mother had many dental needs as well as dental phobia. Treating his mother taught him many critical and fundamental lessons about caring for his patients with dental anxiety and fear. Dr. Le strives to provide the same compassionate care to his patients. He has a goal to change the fearful public perception of dentistry, one patient at a time.

Dr. Le is a general dentist who enjoys performing ALL aspects of dentistry for patients of all ages. One of his patients even happens to be a centenarian. Dr. Le currently focuses on endodontics (root canal therapies) and oral surgeries (extractions, gum surgery, implants, etc.). He also loves seeing kids and refers to them as “little angels who bring joy to his challenging days”.


Dr. Le is currently pursuing his Fellowships in the American Academy of General Dentistry and the International Congress of Implantology. Besides pursuing his passion in dentistry through continuing education, Dr. Le enjoys piano, yoga, working out, trips to the beaches with family and close friends, sightseeing in Washington, DC, and Billiards. He is a team captain of a Billiards league in his current home town Washington, DC.

Bawul Kim, DMD

Bawul Kim, DMD, is a dedicated general dentist who is passionate about providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. He joined the Dahlgren Dental team in 2023 and is proud to serve the King George community.

Dr. Kim was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and came to the United States for his undergraduate education when he was 19. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where he was awarded the Maroon Global Excellence Scholarship. He then went on to achieve a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.

While working at a Korean government-funded science and technology research institute, Dr. Kim’s participation in dental mission trips to Haiti and Uzbekistan sparked a profound change in his career path. Recognizing his passion for providing hands-on care and improving oral health, he transitioned from engineering to dentistry.


Dr. Kim went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. There, he gained a deep understanding of the interplay between biomedical, behavioral, and oral health sciences. Dr. Kim’s comprehensive approach to dental care is supported by his commitment to ongoing education, allowing him to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and techniques in the field.
